Kit 15 and Kit 30
Kit 15 is one set. Kit 30 is two identical sets.
Student books
Student books are bought as class sets. They are consumable: each child writes in their own.
What it is made of
Every instrument is made by hand in West Java. The sounding tubes are black bamboo (awi wulung); the base rail and the four posts are bambu tali; the joints are wrapped in rattan. The outside and the rattan are finished with clear varnish, and the inside of the tubes is bare bamboo. The stand has black bamboo columns and bars of waru gunung wood.
Care
The instruments need no oil. Wipe them dry, keep them away from heat and dry air, and check inside the tubes once a week with a flashlight. Nothing is repaired in the classroom: an instrument with a fault comes out of use and is replaced.
Not in the kit: cloths, a soft brush and a flashlight are the school's own.
